Synthesis and modification of functions-oriented two-/mixed-dimensional nano-systems for solar-driven H2O/CO2-to-fuels conversion

We have open positions for PhD students who are interested in doing research in the area of nanomaterials science and applications, especially relevant to the two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials. If you have obtained a relevant Master degree with papers published, that is better!
English language requirement:
IELTS - an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test.
TOEFL - a score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening.
(1) The relevant research for the 1st PhD position will work on the synthesis, modification and characterization of novel two-dimensional and/or mixed-dimensional function-oriented nanomaterials-to-nanosystems, and their applications development for efficient cost-competitive solar-driven H2O/CO2 to chemical fuels conversion under the fundamental understanding on the conversion mechansim with electrochemistry and/or theoretical modeling.
(2) The research for the 2nd PhD position will work on the Clean-Room processes with photo-/E-beam/nano-imprint lithographies, atomic layer deposition and plasma/chemical etching, etc., for novel nano-devices fabrication, characterization and understanding based on two-dimensional (2D) atomic layer crystals and their structures functionalized with 0D, 1D and/or 2D molecular-/atomic-scale hetero materials.
