We have a world class Genomics laboratory and have sequenced the genomes of penguins, humans and canines. We are looking for an enthusiastic student with immense interest in the bioinformatics analysis of next generation sequence data. The prospective student will be working on a project to analyse genome data (to be generated in this lab as well as those available in the databanks) to examine the patterns deleterious mutations in human populations.

An honors or master's degree in biological, physical or computational science is required. Persons with a non-biology degree should have some basic understanding of genetics, evolution and molecular biology.

Essential skills include:
[We wouldn't expect a starting PhD student to have many of these skills, but an ability and desire to learn them is obviously essential]
